President Yun Seok-yeol conferred the Order of Cultural Merit to Song Hae, who passed away.

The Order of Cultural Merit is awarded to a person who has made a significant contribution to the development of culture and art and the enjoyment of national culture.



On the same day, President Yoon sent Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Bo-gyun to the funeral hall of Seoul National University Hospital in Jongno-gu, Seoul, where the funeral was set up, and delivered the condolences and the gold crown cultural medal to his bereaved family.



"There is no way I can contain my sadness at the news of the passing of Mr. Song Hae," President Yoon said in the jojeon. .

Song Hae, the oldest extant host, passed away on the 8th at the age of 95 at his home.

The funeral of his deceased will be held for three days as the president of the Korea Broadcasting Comedians Association.

His burial place was set up at the funeral home of Seoul National University Hospital, and his funeral will be held on the 10th.

Jangji is located in Songhae Park, Dalseong-gun, Daegu, where the deceased will be buried next to his wife, who died first in 2018.
