He killed a person and injured 30 when he ran over his car, then left a confession letter in it

The German newspaper "Bild" reported that a confession letter was found inside the car whose driver carried out a run-down operation on a street in the German capital, Berlin, killing one person and injuring 30 others.

"This was not an accident," the newspaper quoted a police investigator as saying, but the state's Home Secretary, Iris Spranger, denied the existence of a confession letter, noting that banners were found in the car.

Berlin police told Sky News that a 29-year-old man believed to be the driver had German and Armenian citizenship.

Berlin police spokesman Martin Dams said earlier that it was not clear whether the run-down was an accident or whether the driver deliberately ran over pedestrians.
