These tables were designed by the French architect Jean Prouvé.

In 1955 and 1956, the designer participated in competitions to fit out new student residences.

He had won the competition for the development of collective spaces and had created the central Trapeze table, two models of which have just been sold.

Both pieces were purchased by a French collector and by a major European collection.

This sale represents a double world record for a piece of furniture by Jean Prouvé.

Thanks to these 3,844,000 euros collected, the Crous de Versailles intends to "transform a traditional residence into a modern, more comfortable residence", indicated Laurence Assous, its General Manager.
