Her Highness congratulated the graduates, considering their obtaining this degree, which is the first of its kind in the region, as a new achievement that enhances the prospects for developing the cultural and creative sector.

She expressed her sincere wishes to all of them for success in employing what they have learned in creating the future.

The graduation ceremony was attended by the Director-General of the Dubai Development Authority and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation, Malik Al Malik, Director-General of the Culture and Arts Authority in Dubai Hala Badri, President of the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation, Mohammed Abdullah, and Executive Dean of Parsons College of Design, Dr. Rachel Schreiber. , Dean of the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation, Hani Asfour, in addition to officials and strategic partners of the institute, including representatives from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the new Parsons College of Design in New York, which cooperated with the institute to design its global curriculum.

The graduation ceremony for the first batch of students from the Dubai Institute of Design and Innovation included a presentation of 10 graduation projects from the students of the batch, which were selected from a large group of projects that were presented during the “Graduate Exhibition” organized by the Institute in the Dubai Design District over the past two weeks, to display the students’ work and ideas.

The projects included a variety of work, from creating a digital art collection in the form of non-replaceable symbols (phygital NFT) that will be linked to a charitable organization through a student, to a “phygital” guide that helps children develop skills to control their emotions.

Other projects submitted by students include a complete design of an app that aims to support early-to-mid-grade Alzheimer's patients through memory therapy using artificial intelligence and augmented reality techniques.

The projects also included a meditative system that works as an interactive physical therapy for children, in addition to other projects focused on perceptions of human and plant life on Mars and other innovative ideas.
