China News Service, June 5th. The State Council's joint prevention and control mechanism held a press conference on the 5th.
Zhu Wenzhong, deputy director of the Passenger Transport Department of China National Railway Group, said at the meeting that this year's summer railway student transportation work has begun. For the popular directions and concentrated time periods for students to travel, China National Railway Group will adopt additional trains, additional trailers, and heavy EMUs. We will take measures to provide sufficient transportation capacity and make every effort to ensure that the majority of students can walk and walk well.
At the press conference, a reporter asked: The summer vacation is coming, and the return of college students will usher in a peak. How can the railway department ensure the transportation capacity of college students returning home?
In this regard, Zhu Wenzhong said that the railway is the main way for students to travel to and from their hometown, and more than 40 million people travel by railway every year.
At present, with the situation of epidemic prevention and control stabilizing, this summer railway student transportation work has begun. The National Railway Group has conscientiously implemented the work arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, strengthened communication with the education authorities, and formulated a special Student return home transportation work plan.
In terms of capacity arrangement, there are mainly three measures:
One is to fully understand the needs.
Leveraging the advantages of informatization, it organized railway scientific research units to carry out technology research and development. On June 1, the student travel demand registration function was launched on the 12306 mobile client and the 12306 WeChat applet to collect students' round-trip ticket purchase needs; at the same time, Carry out multi-frequency and multi-dimensional demand analysis as an important reference for accurately arranging transportation resources and ticketing organization strategies.
As of 9:00 this morning, the demand collection has exceeded 50,000.
The second is to scientifically arrange transport capacity.
According to the results of demand analysis and historical passenger flow data, scientifically arrange transport capacity resources, and take measures such as adding trains, adding trailers, and reconnecting EMUs for popular directions and concentrated time periods for students to provide sufficient transport capacity.
Taking Beijing as an example, we arrange nearly 200 trains from Beijing to major cities across the country every day, with a total supply of more than 120,000 seats, which can fully meet the needs of students returning home.
The third is to make emergency reserves.
In Beijing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Xi'an and other areas where colleges and universities are concentrated, a certain number of hot-standby EMUs are arranged. According to the big data of ticket sales, the standby capacity can be activated at any time to meet the needs of sudden student passenger flow.
In short, the railway department will provide sufficient transportation capacity to ensure that the majority of students can walk and walk well.
