A teacher saves his students from a bear attack with an unexpected weapon

A British Columbia music teacher managed to save his students and himself from a wild bear by playing the trombone, media and social networking sites reported yesterday.

The teaching staff at St. John's Academy near Lake Chuanigan noticed a wild bear that had been attracted by the trash cans next to the school.

But Kristan Clausen, the school's music teacher, decided there was a musical instrument that could do the trick, so he played the trombone, directing the annoying sound at the curious bear.

According to UPI.

A video clip of one of the students shows the bear responding to Clausen's musical "alarm" and then hastily leave the area.

The music professor later told a local news network that he noticed the bear's curiosity towards him when he started playing, but the bear may have decided that "it is better to escape than the cauldron."
