Very dependent on international financial aid and foreign expertise, the Afghan economy has collapsed since the return to power of the Taliban last summer (2021).

The latter are looking for a new economic model more centered on the country and which would see a refocusing of social life around the family or the tribe, both in the countryside and in urban areas.

A difficult bet, according to our guest Shahrbanou Tadjbakhsh, author of a well-documented article on the subject in the latest issue of the Middle East magazine.
