David Cronenberg would see Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson play together again, and he even has an idea for a film.

It must be said that the filmmaker took great pleasure in working with the two stars of

Twilight

, first with Robert Pattinson on

Cosmopolis

and

Maps to the Stars

, and more recently with Kristen Stewart for

Future Crimes

.

“It was Robert who introduced me to Kristen.

Separately, they evolved in a beautiful way as actors.

They managed to get away with it by making auteur cinema.

Kristen and I had a great time and it's the same with Rob.

For me, yes, I can absolutely think of a movie, an idea, that would work well to have them together,” the director said in an interview with

Variety

.

Not for now

"I don't want to get involved in this because it won't be my next film," continued David Cronenberg.

“Especially since it could be problematic since the fans could expect a certain type of relationship (between them) and that would require creating new characters for them.

I have the strange feeling that it could be problematic, so it's only theoretical for now, ”he insisted.

While

Future Crimes

received a warm welcome at Cannes recently, David Cronenberg is already working on

The Shrouds

, his next film which will notably feature Vincent Cassel in the cast.

The French actor will play the role of a businessman who develops a machine to connect to the dead.

Filming is due to begin in March 2023.
