In the United Kingdom, the Platinum Jubilee of Elizabeth II has been an event that has been carefully prepared for many months.

The festivities kicked off on June 2 and run until Sunday, June 5.

The 96-year-old sovereign, little present due to health problems, is acclaimed in the United Kingdom, but also in the 54 member countries of the Commonwealth.

Overview of Australia, Canada, India and Kenya.

► In Australia, a founding member of the Commonwealth, the festivities were preceded by the start of a controversy.

► In Canada, this Jubilee is also a symbolic moment, even if Canadians are divided about the Queen.

► India, the former colonial jewel of the United Kingdom, is also part of the Commonwealth, but with a special status.

As a Republic, the country does not recognize the Queen as head of state.

► It was in Kenya that Queen Elizabeth was when she learned of the death of her father in 1952, and therefore her accession to the throne.

The country was still a British colony, and on the occasion of this Jubilee, we see above all the wounds of the fight for independence, which were harshly repressed at the time, reappear.
