Princess Charlene of Monaco has tested positive for Covid-19, but her state of health “does not inspire any concern”, the Principality announced on Saturday in a press release.

“In accordance with the health rules in force, Princess Charlene will observe a period of isolation of several days”, continued the princely palace.

Returning to the Rock in March after a long absence for health problems, Princess Charlene said she was "more serene" but admitted at the end of May in the press that her state of health was "still fragile".

Her husband Prince Albert II of Monaco, first infected with the coronavirus at the start of the epidemic in 2020, had again tested positive for Covid-19 last April.

Since May 12, wearing a mask indoors is no longer compulsory in Monaco outside of health establishments, accommodation facilities for the elderly, public transport and taxis.

Since the start of the epidemic, more than 12,000 people have been affected by Covid-19 in this small principality of 40,000 inhabitants.
