Léa Seydoux is frankly disappointed that the spin-off of

X-Men

devoted to Gambit, the superhero that was to embody Channing Tatum, was not done.

Because according to her, the script had real potential that, unfortunately, the studios were unable to detect.

“There are a few funny passages in it, but they wanted to do something closer to a comedy,” explained to IndieWire the French actress who should have played Belladonna Boudreaux, the superhero lover.

A role she would have enjoyed playing because it would have, in many ways, changed her mind.

An exotic role

“I feel like in America people have more imagination.

I was offered films that were very, very different from what I had done and I said to myself, “Oh, interesting”.

I like to feel that I can adapt.

For me, it's very exotic, ”continued Léa Seydoux.

If the abandonment of

Gambit

by the studios disappointed the actress, it simply “traumatized” Channing Tatum.

“Once Gambit disappeared, I was so traumatized.

I turned off my Marvel machine.

I couldn't see any of the movies.

I loved this character.

It was just too sad.

It was like losing a friend because I was so ready to play him,” the actor told

Variety

a few months ago.
