Julia Peirone also shows three brand new photo series.

One of them is called "Some like it hot" in which she has let young girls put on make-up for Marilyn Monroe, but without a mirror.

-What I wanted was partly the ritual of putting on make-up, but without a mirror it becomes "diffar" that makes it more interesting.

Her purpose is for the viewer to first see the iconic image of Marilyn, then up close the individuals appear.

Interesting when it rubs

Julia Peirone has long been interested in the human mistakes, which according to her depict the man behind the facade.

When something rubs or collides in the picture becomes more interesting.

The theme reappears in the extensive exhibition, which shows her work since 2008.

-Always when we put on make-up or pose perfectly, it is the image we want to be.

But that's not what we are!

Premiere for older women

Julia Peirone's models have for many years been young women, which she used as a canvas for universal human feelings.

But now, for the first time, she is exhibiting pictures of older women.

The series "Butterflies" depicts the old women with paraphernalia as young lolites.

The idea is that they are like butterflies where the outer shell changes but the human behind remains.

The exhibition "Braids and Bruisers" opens on June 3 at Liljevalchs +
