Gérald Darmanin called on the prefects to be particularly "vigilant" to ensure the security of places of worship this weekend "in the context of the Jewish holidays of Shavuot and the Christian holidays of Pentecost".
A series of measures
In a telegram sent Friday to the prefects as well as to the directors general of the police and the gendarmerie, the Minister of the Interior notes "the high level of the terrorist threat" which "requires the maintenance of strong vigilance, in particular vis-à-vis -to places of a religious nature.
He thus calls the “attention” of the prefects “to the gatherings and offices of Jewish and Christian worship which will be held from Saturday evening to Monday evening”.
Gérald Darmanin lists the measures to be taken, in particular the attention paid to vehicles parked near places of worship or the use of Sentinel forces.
