According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, five children under the age of 16 were diagnosed with acute hepatitis of unknown cause and were hospitalized in Japan, according to a new report from the local government.



Since April, a total of 36 children have been reported as suspected of having acute hepatitis of unknown cause in Japan.



There were no cases of liver transplantation.



Of these, 31 reported by the 26th of last month were analyzed by the National Institute of Infectious Diseases.
