• This Saturday, the city of Nice is hosting a congress on endometriosis open to the general public after a day of training for professionals.

A “first in this format in France”.

  • For the organizers of the event, it is an opportunity to "change mentalities" on these pains but also "to find a balance" for the patients.

“This is unprecedented in France!

In any case, in this format, "proudly launches Dr. Sylvain Tassy, gynecologist in Nice and co-organizer of a major congress on endometriosis which takes place this Friday with training for professionals and Saturday, for all audiences. .

"It's been in the files for three years but we were blocked by health measures," he says.

We had a real demand in the medical and paramedical sector to complete training on this subject and thus better take care of patients.

This day will continue with conferences with experts from all fields, associations, fun workshops and speaking circles on Saturday at the Mediterranean University Center.

"The goal is to popularize medicine and then allow women and their loved ones to better understand their pain and improve their lives in a holistic aspect", adds Dorothée Mior, co-organizer of the event and founder of the Egg center, which accompanies women and couples wishing to have children.

“Finding a balance”

The co-organizer continues: “We want to bring knowledge back to Nice to meet a medical need and the concerns of women.

Endometriosis has consequences on daily life, whether it is food, work, sexuality, fertility.

We must lift the veil on this taboo.

The director of the Egg Center knows what she's talking about as she "lost seven years of [her] life to unexplained infertility" which was actually due to her illness.

She recalls that “endometriosis is the first cause of infertility in women in France”.

Through this major congress, Dr Sylvain Tassy and Dorothée Mior wanted to “change mentalities by providing solutions”.

They list: “We offer natural tips, an exchange with a nutritionist for the foods to be preferred because endometriosis is an inflammatory disease.

We also want to create solidarity "between endogirl", allow mothers to understand why their daughter writhes in pain when she has her period, encourage couple discussions, do yoga or sophrology, all to allow to have global support and find a balance.

“No longer hearing that pain is normal”

For Dorothée Mior, “the event is a way of telling the people who will be present, but also thanks to the echo it will have, that we can consult close to home and that we can be listened to.

It's time for that to change.

The gynecologist adds: “It is society as a whole which has trivialized the fact of having pain in women.

So, ensuring that this congress exists is also a desire to never again hear that pain is normal and that it is inevitable.
