On June 1, 150 rural schools in Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province received a gift from the Forbidden City—150 sets of "Forbidden City Small Schoolbags", a total of 10,350 Forbidden City books worth 600,000 yuan.

"Forbidden City Small School Bag" is a large-scale public welfare activity sponsored by the Palace Museum and Siyuan Sina Yangfan Public Welfare Foundation (hereinafter referred to as Yangfan Public Welfare).

The activity plans to donate a "Forbidden City Small Schoolbag" worth 4,000 yuan to each of 6,000 rural schools across the country, all of which are published by the Forbidden City Publishing House, and are general books that embody the excellent traditional Chinese culture such as architecture, history, calligraphy, painting, and utensils.

In December 2021, the first phase of the "Forbidden City Small Schoolbag" public welfare activity was launched, and a total of 1,000 "Forbidden City Small Schoolbags" were donated to 1,000 schools in 24 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Beijing, Hebei, Jiangxi, and Xinjiang.

This Ganzi donation activity is the start of the second phase of the "Forbidden City Small School Bag" donation to 1,000 rural schools.

As of September this year, more than 200 sets of "Forbidden City Small School Bags" will be delivered to rural schools in Ganzi Prefecture, completing the full coverage of all rural schools (nearly 400) in Ganzi Prefecture.
