La Vie miraculouse d'Étienne Labeyrie

by Stéphane Bardon, published on March 25, 2022 by Éditions Complicités.

His favorite quote:

“The convoy had not yet set off when the striking spectacle of two thousand five hundred warriors glistening with fresh paint gave me a feeling of invulnerability and a hallucinating exhilaration.

Satan had gathered his followers.

They looked like the most fearsome creatures of our legends, satyrs, minotaurs, chimeras who displayed their superb contempt by arousing repulsion and disgust.

Why this book?

  • Because it's a breathtaking adventure,

which transports us to many places, to discover colorful characters, through captivating intrigues until the final twist.

  • Because this novel makes us reflect on the place of the father,

    both filial and spiritual.

The theme of faith is omnipresent in this novel.

  • Because the nib is fine and very pleasant to read.

Some descriptions, especially the scenes of war with Native Americans, are hyperrealistic.
