As reports of "monkeypox" patients continue to occur, mainly in Europe and the United States, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has notified local governments to ensure acceptance at medical institutions in case a patient is found in Japan.

More than 550 cases of "monkeypox" with similar symptoms to smallpox have been confirmed in the United Kingdom and the United States, and the WHO = World Health Organization is calling on each country to take strict measures to contain the infection.

No cases have been confirmed in Japan so far, but the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has informed local governments nationwide to ensure patient acceptance after consulting with medical institutions in preparation for the future.



It is desirable to give priority to acceptance at 58 designated medical institutions nationwide that can handle high-risk infectious diseases.



In addition to an acute rash whose cause cannot be explained, in countries where fever of 38 degrees 5 minutes or more, back pain, swelling of lymph nodes, etc. have been reported, and monkeypox cases have been reported within 21 days of the onset. If the person who was staying had a medical examination, he requested medical institutions nationwide to immediately report the suspected infection to the health center.
