Hollywood star Johnny Depp, 59, has won a civil libel trial with ex-wife Amber Heard, 36.



A jury in Fairfax, Virginia, said on the 1st (local time) that Heard had defamed Depp and ordered him to pay $15 million in damages.

On the other hand, Heard's counter-suit was awarded $2 million in damages.



In a 2018 Washington Post article, Heard alleges that he suffered domestic violence.

He said that Depp did not specify the perpetrator, but he was clearly referring to himself, and filed a suit for damages of 50 million dollars (62.4 billion won) for defamation.



Heard, on the other hand, sued Depp's lawyers claiming he was a liar, claiming $100 million.



In the trial that began in earnest on April 12, the two sides went through a hearing process of over 100 hours for six weeks.

In the process, they fought in a muddy battle as they continued to reveal that they had been abused and abused by each other.

The jury spent more than 10 hours of deliberation over the past three days.



"The purpose of this lawsuit was to reveal the truth regardless of the outcome," Depp said in a statement.
