Afghanistan has been plunged into a serious humanitarian crisis since the Taliban took power on August 15, 2021. The freezing of the assets of the Central Bank of Afghanistan by the United States, associated with the suspension of several international aid programs and international sanctions dealt the final blow to the country, which was 75% dependent on these credits.

According to a recent US report by the General Inspectorate for Afghanistan Reconstruction (Sigar), more than 24 million Afghans are in need of humanitarian assistance, 70% of the population cannot meet their food needs.

95% of the population does not have enough to eat.
