Egypt.. controversy and resentment after a great insult to Umm Kulthum

The statements of an Egyptian poet about the planet of the East, Umm Kulthum, caused a wide wave of controversy on social networking sites and a number of Egyptian newspapers. These statements were considered a great insult to a great stature and a symbol of art and culture in Egypt and the Arab world in general.

The Syndicate of Musical Professions issued a strongly-worded statement, after what it described as insulting the Planet of the East Umm Kulthum and Ahmed Ramy in the Egyptian Writers Union.

The statement stated: "Egypt is present in time and firmly established as a hill in place, and no matter how much the greedy and aspiring try to reduce it, it rises and is not humiliated when its symbols are insulted."

And the statement of the Syndicate of Musical Professions added: Attempting to undermine its history every small and financier, his plot is to slaughter him, and he will only gain loss.

And the statement continued: The Syndicate of Musical Professions, being the fortress whose tower protects the artistic and cultural heritage from every arrogant, mischievous and conspirator, stands by them and condemns all attempts to undermine our heritage and artistic symbols, such as the planet of the East, the lady of Arab singing, Umm Kulthum, who used to unite the Arab nation every month on the heart of One man, to hear its melody that captivates hearts and minds, according to “The Seventh Day.”

The Egyptian Writers Union had hosted the poet Nasser Dowidar in a symposium entitled “The Egyptian Song and the Conscience of a Nation.” In some of it, he said: “It is said that Umm Kulthum was married 11 times, and it is said that she was accompanied 11 times, and that she took advantage of the role of the obsessed poet that Ahmed Ramy played and “played.” On the hooks” because it fell into the hands of a “birthday one,” meaning the breeding of births!

He added, "Rami was a lover who had an "emotional rain", and he was "between" one of the bonnets that he took from Umm Kulthum! Umm Kulthum was six selfish and her "shape messed up", and that Abdel Wahab Muhammad liked to repeat the role of the poet Al-Walhan with Latifa, and that the relationship between Umm Kulthum Kulthum and Rami had a relationship between a wolf and his prey. It is said that there is a poet named Ali Mahdi who gave Umm Kulthum two poems and it was rumored that the six would sing for him, and Umm Kulthum detailed the two poems and gave them to great poets to build on them.

The family of Kawkab al-Sharq, in turn, expressed its great dissatisfaction with the matter. The grandson of her brother, Adly Khaled, said: “What was said in the symposium about insulting Umm Kulthum in her form I cannot imagine, I know Umm Kulthum and her great effort in singing for Egypt and the war effort, and we all know her national role, and the truth I was amazed at the abuse of her in this way, Umm Kulthum, who was described in the fourth pyramid, could it be said that she was “companion of 11”, and that she was “Mulday’s”, and that “I created her confused”, not in any way, and I do not know how those who heard him allowed him By prolonging this way, which offends not only Umm Kulthum, but also Egypt.

He added, "I do not know how he allowed himself to describe Ahmed Rami with these descriptions, and I can almost assert that everything that this poet wrote is not equal to a line of Rami and Abdel Wahab Muhammad's poetry. We are reluctant to take measures to ensure that it is not compromised.”

Khaled stressed: "The surprising thing is that this symposium is taking place in the Egyptian Writers Union, and not elsewhere. How did the Writers Union allow such sayings to be said about a great Egyptian symbol and to upload videos of the symposium on YouTube, this is a great insult and will not be forgiven."
