series , sequel to the 1988 cult film, was shown to the public, they noticed the absence of Madmartigan, played by Val Kilmer.

However, the actor, who survived throat cancer and was unable to attend the filming which took place in Wales during the Covid-19 pandemic, will indeed be present.

The spirit of his character, Madmartigan, will hold "a large place" in this plot which takes place several years after the events of the initial feature film.

“[Val Kilmer] is on the show in a big way.

And we're pretty excited about it… Madmartigan lives on!

For the whole team, it was impossible to pick up the thread of this story imagined by George Lucas and directed by Ron Howard without Val Kilmer.


“Val is totally part of the show.

It was the first conversation I had with Warwick [Davis, who plays Willow], when we got the green light from the studio: we had to do it with Val!

We wanted his character to be part of the story.

We wanted him to be on the show,” he told Yahoo!
