On December 22, the 3 Valleys zoo, which hosts some 600 animals on 60 hectares, in Montredon-Labessonnié in the Tarn, was closed by prefectural decision.

Three days earlier, nine wolves had escaped from their enclosure and four of them had to be put down.

At the beginning of May, the State services had given formal notice to park officials to transfer these animals to other establishments following "unacceptable disorders" and endangering the public.

They had fifteen days to transfer the wolves from Europe and the wolves from Hudson by August 31 at the latest.
