In order to create an environment where people working in the entertainment industry, such as entertainers and staff, can feel free to consult about their mental problems, an organization made up of actors and musicians has opened a new consultation desk for their problems.

This was announced at a press conference on June 1st by the "Japan Performers Association" made up of actors and musicians.

The new consultation desk "Entertainment Worker Kokoro no 119" accepts various concerns by e-mail for those who work in the entertainment industry, and clinical psychologists will respond to consultations, so it is different for those who need it. It means to provide support such as introducing a consultation desk or a specialized institution.

According to the association, it seems that the number of entertainers and staff who are suffering from the effects of the new coronavirus and the damage caused by the Internet is increasing, but the environment for mental care is difficult to use, such as the difficulty of using the general consultation desk. According to a questionnaire survey conducted in May for people in the entertainment industry, about 60% of the approximately 290 respondents said that they had a problem because they did not have a consultation desk. It means that you answered.

Megumi Morisaki, the representative director of the Japan Performing Arts Association, said, "Personal information is completely protected and can be used with peace of mind, so I would like you to confide your concerns that you could not consult with anyone until now."
