The mother of French journalist Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff, killed two days ago in Ukraine, wanted to send a text to the Russian news agency Tass, which claims that he was a "mercenary".

"Know that you will never succeed in smearing his memory," she notably launched at the propaganda agency.

Two days after the death of French journalist Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff in Ukraine, his mother wanted to send a message to the Russian news agency Tass.

This propaganda agency had relayed the words of a pro-Russian separatist who claimed that the BFM TV reporter was not a journalist, but a "mercenary engaged in the delivery of arms to the armed forces".

In full mourning, the mother of Frédéric Leclerc-Imhoff immediately reacted to the continuous news channel, by writing a text to the agency.

“You will never succeed in sullying his memory”

"Your press release makes me nauseous. Of course you are cowardly trying to clear yourself of customs, but know that you will never succeed in smearing his memory. Everyone here knows his professional and personal commitment to democracy, human respect and above all free information , impartial and honest, all notions that seem far removed from what drives you”, writes the mother of the family.

She concluded her letter with a thought for the Ukrainian mothers and the mothers of the Russian soldiers "who will not see (their children) again and who wonder why".

She finally adds: "I, at least, despite the pain, I know why my son died. One day, those really responsible for this criminal nonsense will be held to account."
