Hospital bill shocks an American tourist in Morocco

With much astonishment, travel blogger Christian Grossi shared the bill for a Moroccan hospital for treatment during his last trip to the country, considering that the "31 dollars" he paid to the hospital was "too low".

Grossi, 23, shared his food poisoning experience on his TikTok account, and the video has garnered more than 1.9 million views.

He said he took the medical bill as a "memorial" of the accident.

In the clip, Grossi says, "I ended up fainting and collapsing on the sidewalk" after falling ill during a visit to Morocco.

"I woke up to four Moroccan men pouring water on my head speaking Arabic and taking me to the hospital," he said, where he received treatment in the emergency room in addition to "intravenous resuscitation solutions", antiparasitics and anti-nausea.

Compared to the US health system, Grossi would have billed perhaps thousands of dollars for a check-up, treatment and an overnight stay in the hospital.

Grossi told the nurse, who assured him of his health, that he did not have medical insurance, fearing that the bill would be large.

But instead, he paid a "low" amount compared to what he would have paid in the United States, which impressed him, and said that they "accept cash only", which is another comparison with many companies and hospitals in the United States that do not accept cash payment, but via cards. or electronic checks.
