A part of the Hanshin Expressway No. 14 Matsubara Line, which connects to the center of Osaka, was closed from June 1 due to bridge replacement work.

When the interview team entered the closed site on the 1st, it was clearly confirmed that the area near the joint of the bridge was lowered by about 20 cm.

The closed section is between Kire-Uriwari and Miyake JCT on the No. 14 Matsubara Line.

This time, the construction will be closed on the Hanshin Expressway No. 14 Matsubara Line, about 2.5 km above and below the Kire-Uriwari entrance and Miyake Junction.

The part shown in red on the map.

This section was closed from 4 am on the 1st.

When the interview team enters the site ...

On the 1st, an interview team entered the closed site.

The Matsubara Line has deteriorated more than 40 years after its opening in 1980 (Showa 55), and the joints of the bridges have been lowered compared to when they were first constructed, which has become a safety issue.

The joint of the bridges passed from both sides.

A pink line is drawn horizontally on the sound insulation wall, but it was clearly confirmed that the joint of the bridge was lowered by about 20 cm.

To implement fundamental measures for reinforcement with wires

As a countermeasure, work to reinforce this place with wire cables etc. has been carried out so far, but due to the maintenance of the bridge circuit, this time, as a fundamental countermeasure, it is integrated with steel material. It was decided to replace it with a structural bridge.

To replace it with a "seamless bridge" over 3 years

This time, the construction will be carried out in a section of about 150m near Kire-Uriwari.

The two general roads, "Nagai Koen-dori", which straddles the Matsubara Line near Kire-Uriwari, and "Inner Ring Line," which runs underneath, are both major roads in the region with extremely heavy traffic.

Construction will be carried out almost without stopping the flow of traffic on general roads.

We plan to remove the existing bridge girders and piers over a period of about two years, and then replace them with lightweight, high-strength steel materials over another year.

The new bridge girder is 154m long and will be a seamless piece.

Kayo Ikemoto of Hanshin Expressway Co., Ltd. said, "It's been three years since we have to adopt a special construction method to minimize the impact on the surrounding traffic and first remove the existing one. It will take time. After opening, you will be able to use the Matsubara Line more safely and comfortably, so we appreciate your understanding and cooperation. "

Construction is scheduled to begin in earnest next week after inspections and surveys related to bridge replacement have been conducted.
