The Loiret prefecture announced on Tuesday that several sectors of the department were facing a drought requiring the implementation of specific measures.
The local authorities mentioned, in a press release, “the flows of the rivers of the department […] below the threshold values for drought management”.
They then gave a list of the areas concerned.
The limitations put in place had been described in a preventive manner in a prefectural decree of May 24, 2022 and in the drought decrees of April 6.

Washing and watering concerned
Farmers need to be mindful of the volumes and timings of their irrigation.
Businesses and communities must monitor their discharges into waterways.
As for individuals, they are prohibited from washing their cars or their facades.
The filling of swimming pools and watering are subject to limitations.
