Beijing Shadow Puppet Art Week, formerly known as "Beijing (Taihu) Shadow Puppet Art Week".
Founded in 2018, it aims to integrate domestic and international puppet art resources and build an international puppet art and culture platform.
The art week has been held for four consecutive sessions, and has invited dozens of artists from China, Japan, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Peru, Brazil, France, Israel, Poland, Spain, Greece, Hungary, Belgium, Bulgaria, etc. Professional teams from home and abroad joined the show, and launched more than 130 tent performances; more than 500 outdoor performances; more than 20 specially invited theater performances; more than 40 specially invited online shows and 8 international forums.
According to reports, in order to realize the modern transformation of traditional art forms, to enable the living inheritance of my country's magnificent intangible cultural heritage, to explore the diverse possibilities of shadow puppet art, to discover more unique creative performances, and to incubate a group of contemporary, Original shadow puppet works from an international perspective, the 2022 Beijing Shadow Puppet Art Week specially opened the "Who is the puppet" short video creative competition unit, which openly collects short videos of shadow puppet performances for practitioners and fans of shadow puppet art.
The "Who is the Idol" short video creative competition is jointly sponsored by the Beijing Dramatists Association, Bilibili, and "New Script" magazine. The proposition is not limited, and the content is determined by the participants themselves. Original works of the main performance elements, the performance time is not limited, preferably within 3 minutes or 5 minutes.
On the basis of the complete video of the submitted work, the contestant can submit a "flash version" short video of the performance within 30 seconds to reflect the core highlights or creative ideas of the play.
The "flash version" short video can be an edited version of the complete work, or it can be an independent video work that can reflect the spirit of the play's creation.
This solicitation starts on June 1st and ends on September 16th. The list of winners will be announced on September 30th. Excellent winning works can be exhibited during the 2022 Beijing Film and Puppet Art Week, and have the opportunity to be selected including professional, The special creation incubation plan of "Chance Encounter", including the support of funds, technology, channels, etc., will be further developed into a complete film and puppet drama stage art work.
It is reported that the fifth Beijing Puppet Art Week is scheduled to start in October 2022.
