Why this book?

  • Because we will have to go back a few weeks

to understand why Jonas finds himself on an island, completely haggard, shaggy, as if lost in his thoughts.

He lands in an archipelago, in the heart of an ocean, far from home, with the main quest of finding his father: a man he did not know, who vanished two days before his birth.

But to find him, he will have to survey the islands of the bay.

He will be accompanied by Sam and his brother, who owns a boat.

A strange man, not very talkative, who seems almost threatening.

  • Because we too climb on this boat,

in search of this father, and here we are embarked on a strange adventure.

As Jonas explores an island, there is an encounter with a young woman.

A furtive appearance, like a dream, a dream that becomes real.

    Who is she ?

    What is her name ?

What is she doing alone on an island.

This meeting will then make everything explode, like a storm.

  • Because it's impossible not to get caught

up in Charles Aubert's writing and the atmosphere that emanates from this story.

    There is mystery, questions, suspense.

The place of the sea and nature is omnipresent.

I found myself appreciating the technical explanations, which I discovered at the same time as Jonas, carefully noting this very technical vocabulary.

  • Because I too felt the rolling of the boat,

I tasted the spray from this ocean and I watched for the rising wind.

The wind, this key element of the novel, which punctuates by its intensity the 12 parts of this adventure.

But here the waves and waves are not just breaking at sea, but also in hearts and minds.

This book was read with

passion and ardour.

I was completely bewitched by this novel imbued with nature, spirituality and philosophy and which gives us a more than successful suspense.

If you had to read only one novel this spring, it's this one.

What an adventure, what a novel!
