Put on?

Can't you put it on?

May 31, 17:42 with new policy of wearing masks

The last few days have suddenly become hot.

Take off the mask and take a deep breath while paying attention to the surroundings.

There may have been many such people.

I have been living in a mask for more than two years.

This month, the country presented a new way of thinking about wearing masks.

Judge whether it is outdoors or indoors, whether the distance is secured, and whether there is conversation.

Depending on the situation, it may not be necessary to wear it.

Has the appearance of the town changed?

Who walks in downtown?

First is the outdoors.

It is recommended to wear a mask if you cannot keep a distance and have a conversation.

Other than that, it was not necessary.

In Shibuya, Tokyo, where many people come and go, it seemed that most people were wearing masks.

"I'm reluctant to remove the mask. I'm worried about the eyes, and some people I've only met through the mask made me worried about removing it.

" Some people said that it was troublesome to keep it on.

On the other hand, I saw a few people walking with their masks off.

"Although it is crowded, the number of infected people is not as high as it was for a while, so I think it is not necessary. You can wear it at stores and trains, but it gets hot in the summer and it is difficult to breathe, so you should remove it.

" For prevention reasons, it is recommended to remove the mask if there is no conversation outdoors or if distance is available.

What about the runners?

If the distance and conversation conditions are met, it is said that there is no need for a mask for walking, running, cycling, etc. in the park.

Therefore, we headed to the area around the Imperial Palace where runners gather.

During the daytime hours on weekdays when there are still few people running, in places with wide roads, some people were seen wearing masks.

"I take off my mask when no one is there. When I run with my mask off, the air is different."

"Since a new way of thinking came out, I started to run with my mask off. However, when there are many people around me, I respond flexibly by wearing a mask. ”I had

the impression that there were relatively many runners who positively accepted the idea presented this time, but there was still a sense of resistance and the mask. Some people said they were wearing.

"I'm worried about people's eyes, so I've been wearing it as a manner."

Around the Imperial Palace I interviewed, people running with their masks removed responded by wearing a mask taken out of their pockets when they called out. rice field.

It seems that the habit of choosing the time and place to put on and take off the mask has become established.

What about the library?

Even indoors, there are places where you may remove the mask, depending on the distance and conversation conditions.

An example is the library.

When I looked it up, there was a library that started to take action.

There are 15 ward libraries in Adachi-ku, Tokyo.

Of these, at the Central Library, a new note was posted in 130 reading seats.

The sentence "Please wear a mask" and "When removing the mask, please make sure that there are no other users around and refrain from talking."

It is a cautionary note assuming that the mask will be removed.

When we visited, most of the users wore masks, but we could see one or two people, one or two, who took off the mask and read the book quietly.

On the other hand, in places other than the reading seats, we are still calling for wearing masks.

This is because people may pass each other or have a conversation.

Some users are saying, "I think it's okay to remove the mask if the conditions are met."

Director Shinya Okubo, Adachi City Central Library

"Since the policy was announced by the government, I thought it was necessary to tell the library how to use it properly. Corona has not completely ended yet, so consider the people around me. I want you to use it. "

Indoor mask relaxation Difficult judgment

This time, we asked about 50 libraries in Tokyo and the suburbs of Tokyo.

However, only a few have changed their response immediately like the library in Adachi Ward.

As of May 27, many libraries continued to wear masks in principle.

Some commented that the reasons were "it is difficult to secure 2 meters as a guide", "there are many users", and "I want to make a careful decision by looking at the guidelines of the local government and the movements of other libraries".

Also, along with the library, art appreciation is illustrated as not requiring a mask.

We also asked about 70 museums.

Again, most of the time, we continued to respond as before.

The reasons are "it is difficult to judge whether the visitors are moving and there is enough space or they are not talking", and "employees and visitors are not accustomed to dealing with people without masks".

Masayuki Handa, Managing Director of the Japan Museum Association, which develops infection control guidelines for museums and museums, also explains that there are difficulties.

Masayuki Handa, Managing Director, Japanese Association of Museums

"I think it is necessary to consider revising the guidelines, but it may cause confusion at the site, so it is necessary to hear opinions from as many museums as possible. Because there are differences in the exhibition method and the exhibition method, it is difficult to make a uniform judgment, so I would like to take the time to carefully consider it. "

What is the site of child-rearing?

It seems that there are circumstances in which it is difficult to easily change the response even at sites where it is said that a mask is not required.

The new way of thinking also included the wearing of children's masks.

▽ We do not recommend wearing a mask if you are under 2 years old.

▽ Do not ask preschool children over 2 years old uniformly, and parents and adults around them should be careful about their physical condition when wearing them.

How are the child-rearing sites trying to respond?

It is a certified child institution in Sagamihara City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

We accept about 100 people over the age of 2 who say, "We don't ask for it uniformly," but we continue to make sure that all kindergarten children wear masks.

Children may feel stuffy and it is difficult to communicate through facial expressions.

I am worried about heat stroke before summer, and I would like to relax wearing a mask if possible.

However, the infection situation is unpredictable, such as clusters occurring in the city, and if the infection spreads, the event of the garden may be canceled and important memories may be lost.

It is not easy to change the policy.

Sagami Tsubasa Kindergarten Deputy Director Daisuke Hiramoto

"Children often play densely, and if the infection spreads here, it will return to the situation as before. After watching a little more, remove the mask. I want to think about it. "

There is also a unique reason for child-rearing sites

Other nursery schools and kindergartens have also asked us to assess the situation for a while.

In the first place, there are many different ways of thinking about wearing masks at these facilities.

A facility where masks are strictly worn.

A facility that asks you to wear it "as much as possible".

A facility that does not require a mask when playing outside.

These responses may be influenced by the experience of being closed due to an outbreak or reflecting the thinking of parents.

In my life with Corona for more than two years, it seems to be difficult to deal with a new way of thinking because of what each facility has created.

Furthermore, recently, it is said that children themselves have come to have various ideas about masks.

"I want to wear a cute mask if it's a cute mask"

"I don't want to be a corona and meet my friends"

"I like it because it's safe to wear a mask, but I like not to mask it more ..."

Children, parents It seems that the situation of groping will continue at the child-rearing site as to how to respond based on the thoughts and circumstances of each facility.

A change in awareness of masks An industry where you can feel

Regarding wearing masks, there are some sites that change and some sites that are the same as before, so the response is divided.

Meanwhile, there is an industry that realizes that awareness of masks is changing little by little.

The cosmetics industry.

It is a cosmetics store in Setagaya Ward, Tokyo.

Sales of make-up products have fallen sharply due to the Korona-ka, but it is said that they are gradually recovering recently.

However, the recovery condition is about 50% compared to before Corona.

It is said that it is about 10% for lipsticks.

"If I have more opportunities to remove the mask, I think lipstick and cheeks will recover." At the

store, we are watching people's judgments about masks.

Sakura Cosmetics Akiko Kobayashi

"I think we are ready to take off the mask with confidence when we have the opportunity to take it off. If we have more opportunities to take off the mask in the future, we will wear lipstick. I think more people will be painted or purchased. "

How each person interacts with the mask

Each person has their own way of thinking about masks.

We are still searching for where to draw the line.

For a while, it may be that each person thinks about the appropriate way to interact with the mask and takes actions according to the place and situation.

When I was interviewing, there were some words that left an impression on me.

A man walking in Shibuya.

"I can't wait for the situation where I can remove it anywhere, I hope it will happen soon."

Corona's infection has ended, and I can spend time without worrying about whether to put on or take off the mask.

I hope that such a day will come.
