From the materials of the Shimazu clan entrusted to the Prefectural History and Art Center "Reimeikan" in Kagoshima City, I found a self-written letter written by Toyotomi Hideyoshi to his wife, Kitaseisho.

The letter was written from the current Nagoya Castle in Saga Prefecture, where Hideyoshi built the castle, to Kodai-in during the role of Bunroku and Keicho, who sent soldiers to the Korean Peninsula.

It is estimated to have been written on June 3, 1592 (Tensho 20).

The letter says, "Tangoku will be picked up by the end of the year, and if you move to Tangoku, you will be picked up."

With the cooperation of the Historiographical Institute of the University of Tokyo, he proceeded with research on handwriting and confirmed that it was Hideyoshi's autograph.

This letter will be exhibited at a special exhibition to be held at "Reimeikan" from May 31st.
