[Explanation] On May 28, the finals of the first selection of the top ten outstanding Hong Kong students in the Greater Bay Area were held in Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
Participating Hong Kong students told stories about their growth in the Greater Bay Area on the stage, including Chinese medicine practitioners who participated in the frontline work of the anti-epidemic work, village social workers who went to the countryside to help rural revitalization, music therapists who promoted cultural exchanges through music, and martial arts since childhood. The inheritors of traditional Chinese martial arts; they shine in their respective fields and build their dreams in the Greater Bay Area full of opportunities and challenges.

[Commentary] Lao Shifang, a Hong Kong student from Jinan University, is keen on volunteering. He joined the frontline of the fight against the epidemic in Hong Kong and established a volunteer service team for overseas Chinese students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

While the students are serving others, we are also serving ourselves, and we are also infecting ourselves. I think it is inseparable from traditional culture, which increases our understanding of our country.
[Explanation] Chen Tianhui is a master student of social work at Sun Yat-sen University. From July 2021, he will go to the social work station of Zhaigang Town, Liannan Yao Autonomous County, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province to be a resident social worker in the village. In order to better carry out research and solve local problems, He ate, lived and worked with the villagers for four months.

I support education and agriculture from the perspective of a social worker. For example, when I go to support agriculture, I will first look at the problems in the community, and then explore the advantageous assets of the community, and use its advantages to solve the problems of the community, which is to stimulate The original resources and endogenous power of the community, instead of the traditional "giving type" or "blood transfusion", I went to the community to "make blood".
For example, when I went to the village of the Yao ethnic group, it turned out that the ethnic minorities liked dancing very much and were good at singing and dancing. Then I took advantage of this advantage to discover these women to dance the Yao ethnic group, and drag them into the volunteer organization, and then promote the community. develop.
[Commentary] On the stage, Hong Kong students showed their vigor and striving spirit in turn. Off the stage, they were absorbing and gathering strength from each other, hoping to make greater contributions to the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
They are all first-hand experience of studying in mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area, experiencing the tolerance and opportunities here, and they will also share their stories with friends and students in Hong Kong.
