Transport vehicles shuttle back and forth to "send" sweet fruits out of the mountains and transport them to various places.
Xietan is one of the revolutionary bases in western Hunan and Hubei.
On the main road entering and leaving Xietan market town, the more than 80-meter-long "Heroic Wall" is eye-catching and shocking.
On the heavy wall, the heroic deeds of 20 martyrs who died in different historical periods are engraved.
Visitors all stop here to pay tribute to the hero.

"What is the name of Daxie, the solitary peak is even more majestic." Xietan is located between Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge. The canyon is high and deep. There is no place” to describe the steep mountains and difficult farming.
After the relocation of the Three Gorges immigrants, the Xietan people chiseled stones and built fields. After more than ten years of trial planting and product modification, they cultivated a unique off-season fruit-Xiacheng on the sandy and rocky land, turning this barren land into a For "Golden Orange Mountain".
In the early summer, when the fruit is green and yellow, the ripe summer oranges firmly occupy the fruit market.
The reporter saw that the Xietan people built their houses under the cliffs and beside the rocks. Whenever there was a little soil, a summer orange tree would be planted.
Even if the tenacious summer orange is rooted in the cracks of the stone, it can still bear fruit full of trees, bringing rich rewards to people.

Today, the planting area of Xietan summer oranges exceeds 20,000 mu, with an output value of 240 million yuan, making it a veritable "Hometown of Summer Oranges in China".
Different from the harvest scene in the Linjiang area, the high-altitude area is still filled with the breath of spring.
In Guihuaping Village, which is more than 800 meters above sea level, the plum trees are lush and green, the terraced fields are winding, and the green wheat seedlings cover the fields, giving birth to the hope of a bumper harvest.
The plum tree is a new variety introduced by the Yunshang Gengdu Professional Cooperative in Xietan Township, Zigui County, and the seedling is the red rice planted by the cooperative.
Song Chaojin, a "post-90s" party member, is the director of the cooperative.
Three years ago, he and his cousin returned to their hometown and transferred 150 mu of land in Guihuaping, Chenjiapo and other places, introduced crisp red plums, and became a fruit farmer.
Now the plum tree is growing satisfactorily, and it will be able to bear fruit on a large scale next year.

Last year, the Xietan Township State-owned Company, together with the agricultural technology department, conducted various inspections, and the trial planting of "Luotian Nuerhong" rice was successful.
This year, the Song Dynasty transferred 30 mu of land and began to plant red rice on a small scale.
"At present, 2,000 catties of rice have been reserved, at 25 yuan per catty, which is about 10 times the market value of ordinary rice." Song Chaojin said happily that the people are very motivated, and it is expected to be widely promoted in the future.
Zhou Yufen, deputy secretary of the Party branch of Guihuaping Village, said that although the name of Guihuaping Village has the word "ping" in it, the mountains are high and the slopes are steep, and "the ground is not three feet flat."
The high altitude here is not suitable for growing summer oranges.
The village adjusted the industrial structure and organized farmers to plant chestnuts, walnuts, medicinal materials, etc., and achieved poverty alleviation in 2017. However, due to factors such as technology, transportation, and logistics, it is difficult to further develop.

Song Chaojin said that when the plum trees bear fruit and the wheat seedlings are heading and bearing seeds, this valley will become a "flower and fruit mountain" and "a land of fish and rice."
Zhou Zongqiao, cadre of the Propaganda Department of the Party Committee of Xietan Township, introduced that the revolutionary site of Guihua Su District has been incorporated into the Yichang Municipal Party School External Training Base, and was awarded the Yichang Patriotism Education Base.
At present, the local area is speeding up the construction of the site protection and memorial project, taking the deep integration of red villages and green agriculture as a breakthrough, and making every effort to promote the coordinated development of agriculture, culture and tourism.
