Last month, a pair of storks, a national special natural monument, were attached to two chicks born in Tottori City with anklets to identify them.

In Ketaka-cho, Tottori City, breeding of storks, a national special natural monument, has been confirmed every year since three years ago. Two chicks were born.

On the 27th, about 20 people, including the keeper of "Hyogo Prefectural Stork Town Park" and the staff of Tottori City, visited the nest tower to attach anklets to identify individual chicks.

Then, using an aerial work platform, workers dropped two chicks on the ground from a nest tower about 13 meters high, then collected blood and attached anklets.

If the two chicks grow well as they are, they are expected to leave the nest around the end of next month, and Tottori City and others are calling for quiet monitoring at a distance of 150 meters or more when observing or shooting.

Takafumi Sasaki, Deputy Chief of the Cultural Properties Division of the Tottori City Board of Education, said, "I thought it was a very big bird when I saw it up close. I want you to do it. "
