In Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, nicknamed Shimokita, the development of the track site that was relocated underground has been completed, and an area lined with mini theaters and plazas has been created.

In Shimokitazawa, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd., a major private railway company, has been developing a development project in a section of about 1.7 km from Tohokuzawa Station, which has moved the track underground, to Setagaya-Daita Station.

On the 27th, a ceremony was held to celebrate the completion of a series of projects, and President Koji Hoshino of Odakyu Electric Railway said, "I was able to reflect the local thoughts without compromising the attractiveness of the diversity of the city."

Regarding the site of the railroad track, after the railroad track moved underground in 2013, it was difficult to decide on a development plan, but the town development was promoted while holding briefing sessions to listen to the needs of the residents.

As a result, an area with 13 facilities such as a commercial facility with private shops, a mini theater, and a hot spring inn has been created.

An 18-year-old female college student who visited for shopping said, "There are many shops and it's fun just walking."

In Shimokitazawa, Keio Electric Railway, a major private railway company, also opened in March as a facility where restaurants and bookstores gather in the space under the elevated railroad tracks.
