Saudi Arabia: A doctor saves the life of a girl who swallowed 27 small magnetic balls!

The surgical team specialized in infants and newborns at the Maternity and Children Hospital in Hafr Al-Batin, Saudi Arabia, was able to save the life of a two-year-old girl who swallowed 27 small magnetic balls, according to a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Health.

The statement indicated that the X-ray images that were conducted for the girl showed the presence of 27 small magnetic balls from the components of one of the toys inside the digestive system, which led to perforation of the intestinal wall in 8 places, causing her abdominal pain with continuous vomiting for more than two weeks.

A quick surgical intervention was carried out to extract the magnetic pieces and sew the intestinal holes, and the operation took three and a half hours, and it was successful. The girl left the hospital after her condition stabilized.
