The Tokyo Metropolitan Council was held to discuss the environmental impact of the redevelopment of Meijijingu Gaien, and the submitted materials and explanations of the business operator are not sufficient regarding the impact on the ginkgo trees that the business operator is supposed to preserve. Was pointed out by an expert.

The council was scheduled to finish all deliberations on the 26th, but some members objected and are considering whether the city will continue.

With the redevelopment of the Meiji Jingu Gaien, which straddles Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, the business operator will cut down about 900 trees, while preserving the four rows of ginkgo trees that are colored yellow every autumn. ..

However, the newly built Jingu Baseball Stadium is located right next to the trees, and some of the trees near the trees are planned to be cut down.

Regarding these plans, at the city council meeting held on the 26th, an expert committee member asked, "Are you able to evaluate the impact on the ginkgo trees?"

In response, the business operator replied, "I can't say that there is no impact at this point, and I can't answer."

Some committee members commented that the submitted materials and explanations by the business operators were not sufficient, and that "it is not possible to judge whether the impact on the environment has been minimized."

The council was scheduled to finish all deliberations on the 26th, the fifth time, but some committee members objected and are considering whether the city will continue the deliberations.
