The American company Meta, which brings together the social networks Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, announces that it will better remunerate the authors of documentaries or reports on its platforms.

An agreement has just been reached with the Scam, the organization that manages copyright in the audiovisual sector.

The amounts were not disclosed.

It's a small revolution for the authors of documentaries or reports.

Meta, the company of Mark Zuckerberg and formerly known as "Facebook", will better compensate the authors of documentaries and reports viewed on its social networks.

An agreement with the Scam (Civil Society of Multimedia Authors), the body that manages copyright in the audiovisual sector, has just been reached.

No changes for users

From now on, as soon as an extract, a report or an entire documentary is viewed on Instagram or Facebook, the authors will receive money, as is the case on television.

However, the amounts of the remuneration were not communicated by Meta.

Good news for authors, but also for Facebook and Instagram users.

The nearly three billion users will thus always have access to this journalistic content.

They will thus always be able to freely share them.
