A woman has been infected by monkeypox in the Community of Madrid and is directly related to the chain of transmission of relationships between men, according to sources from the Ministry of Health.

The Madrid region has

65 confirmed cases of monkeypox (one woman and 64 men), 44 discarded and 30 suspects

pending the results of laboratory tests, according to the update of the Ministry of Health corresponding to 4:00 p.m. hours this Thursday.

All the positives evolve favourably.

Previously, the Community of Madrid had reported 51 positive cases of monkeypox, twenty-nine negative and 43 suspected cases, which were pending study.

The Minister of Education, Universities and Science and spokesman for the Government of the Community of Madrid, Enrique Ossorio, urged the Ministry of Health this Thursday

to buy the vaccines "as soon as possible"

to be able to administer them to direct contacts of people with smallpox of the monkey that are already located in the region with the purpose of "completely isolating this infection".

"If in the four days following contact, a person who could have monkeypox due to the contact he has had, is vaccinated, he does not suffer from the disease and if you do it within fourteen days it is severely removed the symptoms", explained Ossorio to the journalists in the final of the First Linguistic Competition of the Community of Madrid.
