has died in the Dominican Republic in his sleep, according to Deadline Hollywood.
The 67-year-old actor made his debut in Scorsese's classic
Goodfellas
opposite Robert de Niro and Joe Pesci, in what would be the defining role of his career.
Liotta, who also
participated in Something Wild'
, 'Revolver', 'Hannibal', Field of Dreams or 'Kill Them Softly', was engaged to marry Jacy Nittolo and had a daughter.
She was in the Dominican Republic filming D "Angerous Waters".
