After Twitch and Instagram, it's Tiktok's turn.

The Chinese social network will launch a paid feature that some content creators will be able to test in beta.

"The idea would be to allow creators to charge a subscription for their content," a spokeswoman told the site.

You will have to pay to have access to additional functionality.

It concerns the live sessions of content creators, i.e. accounts with high followings.

Only creators aged 18 and over, with at least 1,000 subscribers, will be able to use it.

It will also be necessary to be over 18 to subscribe to a subscription, but also to send or receive coins and gifts.

Users who have a paid subscription will be able to react with the emojis of their choice.

This new subscription will also give access to an exclusive conversation group.

In short, the idea is to charge to show that we are a fan apart, privileged.

Moreover, subscribers will be able to display a special badge on their account.

Allow content creators to earn money

This new feature allows TikTok and content creators to earn money, other than through advertising and tips.

Subscription prices have not yet been disclosed.

The feature will be tested starting tomorrow, on a few creator accounts only, initially.

No information has yet been provided regarding the price of this subscription which should be deployed worldwide in the coming months.

With this new feature, TikTok is inspired by Twitch, the live streaming service for video games and other content such as music and sports.

Twitch does indeed offer various subscriptions to support creators, with similar perks like custom emoticons and subscriber badges.
