The Saudi newspaper, "Okaz", stated that the Court of Appeal approved a ruling issued by the Shariah Health Authority obligating the team, consisting of 3 doctors, including a consultant and an anesthesiologist in a medical facility, to compensate a father and mother of Arab nationality in the amount of one million riyals, after the mistake they committed during childbirth.

The newspaper quoted the lawsuit statement that the parents demanded compensation in the amount of 100 million riyals for the expenses and treatment of their paralyzed child as a result of a medical error, “for the next forty years at least, to cover what was spent and what their son needs for treatment, care and rehabilitation.”

In his lawsuit, the father of the child said that he and his mother were unable to continue caring for and rehabilitating his child, and that “for three years without vacations or rest to reconcile work and family and follow up on their son’s treatment, which cost them in the past three years more than one million riyals with the existence of insurance that does not Covers all essential health needs.

He added that following up on his son's health condition "requires permanent, intensive and continuous treatment for life, and reviewing various medical clinics such as nerves, bones, teeth, physical and occupational treatment, speech and hearing, which have high costs that are not covered by insurance, especially the necessary and necessary devices and equipment, other than the loss of educational, work and normal social life opportunities. to his son."
