As the number of international students evacuating from Ukraine to Japan due to the military invasion by Russia increases, the country has decided to newly support a scholarship of about 110,000 yen a month.

We are planning to start recruiting about 100 people soon.

According to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, 106 university students and researchers have evacuated from Ukraine to Japan due to the military invasion by Russia by the 11th of this month. And so on.

While there are no signs of convergence, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology is targeting foreign students who have entered Japan after the military invasion in February and Ukrainian students who are planning to study abroad and who have been recommended by universities and embassies. I have decided to start new support.

Specifically, in addition to providing a monthly scholarship of 117,000 yen, the actual cost will be paid when traveling from now on, and the national and university will bear the entrance fee and tuition fee, and the period will be one year.

This support is provided using the government-sponsored international student system to develop human resources involved in the education and research of Japanese language and culture, and the total required cost is about 150 million yen.

Although the examination will be conducted by an interview test, the requirements such as Japanese language ability and major will be relaxed, so we will start recruiting about 100 people soon, and at the earliest after July. It is expected to start support.
