A senior citizen sat in a supply shaft in a Heidelberg clinic for more than twelve hours.

The 75-year-old went into the clinic's basement on Tuesday evening, got lost there and finally climbed a ladder into the supply shafts.

The police announced on Wednesday.

The disoriented man remained there on Wednesday night in the false ceilings at a height of ten meters.

In the meantime, hospital staff and the police have searched the building, but without any result.

On Wednesday afternoon, the senior broke through the ceiling panels near the operating theaters because of his weight.

This is how the staff became aware of the man.

The 75-year-old was able to hold on and did not fall down.

After the arrival of the height rescue service from the fire brigade, the man was able to be rescued unharmed.
