A leak stopped

Ferric chloride was actually leaking from a tank.

The product was not stopped in the retention tank.

Firefighters managed to plug the leak and recover 8.5 m3 of ferric chloride, a corrosive liquid used to treat wastewater.

The wastewater treatment plant has been managed since 2017 by the urban community of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines.

This promised waterproofing work and depollution of the impacted land.

Monday's PH measurements were described as "reassuring".

The municipalities concerned recommend to the inhabitants not to draw the water and not to let the animals drink it.
