Xinhua News Agency, Tianjin, May 23 (Reporter Zhou Runjian) Astronomy science experts introduced that in the early morning of May 25, Jupiter, Mars and the waning moon will jointly stage a wonderful drama of "double stars accompanying the moon". Make up a "cute smiley face" in the sky.

As long as the weather is fine, within about an hour and a half before dawn, the interested public in our country is facing the low sky in the southeast, and this interesting scene can be seen with the naked eye.

Since the beginning of April this year, the five planets Jupiter, Neptune, Venus, Mars, and Saturn have begun to "cluster" in the low sky in the southeast before dawn.

If the weather is clear, all four planets except Neptune are visible to the naked eye.

According to Yang Jing, a member of the Chinese Astronomical Society and director of the Tianjin Astronomical Society, in April and May, the five planets traveled through the southeastern sky before dawn, and it happened that they were "close" to each other.

In late May, the moon travels into the sky at dawn, meeting the planets in turn.

In the early morning of the 25th, the waning moon of the 25th day of the fourth lunar month was closely accompanied by Jupiter and Mars.

If the weather is fine, in the early morning of that day, the public who are interested in our country and who can get up early will look to the southeast sky and see that in the slight morning light, a crescent moon hangs diagonally like a silver hook, swaying like a boat.

And not far from the upper left of the moon, there are two bright stars close together, the brighter one to the left is Jupiter, with a brightness of -2.2, and the other darker is Mars, with a brightness of 0.7. The three form a "cute smiley face".

Since Mars is dimmer than Jupiter, in this "cute smiley face" one "eye" is bright and one "eye" is slightly darker.

It is understood that the astronomical phenomenon of "double stars accompanying the moon" is very common, but there are not many times when it can catch up with the crescent moon or the waning moon, which is in the shape of a crescent moon, and has a "grinning" shape.

"If you want to watch and take pictures of this 'cute smiling face', it is best to choose a place with a wide view in the southeast, no building block and little light pollution; if you are observing in a city, it may be affected by the city lights in the sky Mars is not easy to find, you can only see Jupiter with the moon, but because Jupiter is very bright, this 'star and moon fairy tale' is also very exciting." Yang Jing said.

Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system. It is known as the "giant planet". In ancient my country, it was called "Sui Xing"; Mars is the first planet outside the earth's orbit, and its color is red. People are confused, which is called "Yinghuo" in ancient China.
