Formulate a rejuvenation plan for the healthy growth of ancient trees, and provide a reference for the protection and management of ancient and famous trees in Taiyuan and even the northern region.

  Zhou cypress in the Western Zhou Dynasty, Changling cypress in the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Han Huai, Nestle locust in the Northern Qi Dynasty, Sui Huai, Tang Huai, Ming Ginkgo... In Jinci, a thousand-year-old royal garden, ancient trees from various historical periods are gathered.

In particular, ancient trees such as cypress in the Zhou Dynasty filled the blank of the physical examples of Jinci before the Song Dynasty, and have important cultural value to the historical research and future development of Jinci and even Taiyuan.

  The "Millennium Ancient Tree Nondestructive Testing Technology" project is a scientific research project applied by Jinci Museum in 2019, planned by Taiyuan Cultural Relics Bureau, organized by Shanxi Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, and approved by Shanxi Provincial Department of Science and Technology. It is listed as a key research and development project in Shanxi Province in 2020. .

After two years of project implementation, all task indicators were exceeded. Using PICUS elastic wave tree tomography diagnostic device and TRU tree radar and other non-destructive testing technologies, the trunk rot and root system distribution of five thousand-year-old trees were mastered. The detection and analysis of soil physicochemical properties and the analysis of soil microbial Biolog functional diversity provide a scientific and effective rejuvenation plan for the healthy growth of ancient trees.

It can even provide reference for the protection and management of ancient and famous trees in the northern region.

  According to the census of ancient and famous trees in Taiyuan in 2021, there are 147 ancient and famous trees in Jinci Museum, including 50 first-class ancient trees (30 ancient trees over a thousand years old), 25 second-class ancient trees, and third-class ancient trees. There are 39 ancient trees and 33 reserve ancient trees.

In addition, there are more than 100 follow-up ancient trees, which is the largest group of ancient trees in Taiyuan.
