Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, yesterday awarded prizes to the winners of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award in its 16th session, during the annual honoring ceremony for the award, which was organized In the Louvre Abu Dhabi Museum by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, affiliated with the Department of Culture and Tourism - Abu Dhabi.

This year, seven innovators and thinkers won the award, along with the Egyptian Library of Alexandria.

Emirati poet Maysoon Saqr won the award in the "Branch of Literature" for her book "Cafe of Feathers.. Eye on Egypt".

Syrian writer Maria Daadoush won the award in the “Children and Youth Literature” section, for her book “The Glass Ball Puzzle.”

While the writer Dr. Mohamed Al-Maztouri (from Tunisia) won the award within the “Young Author” section, for his book “Bedouin in Old Arabic Poetry”.

Dr. Ahmed El-Adawy (from Egypt) won the award for the “Translation” branch, for his translation of “The Rise of Humanities in Muslims and in the Christian West,” from English to Arabic by George Makdisi.

Moroccan Mohamed El-Dahi won the award in the “Arts and Critical Studies” branch for his book “The Narrator and the Twin of the Soul: From Acting to Syntax.”

The prize for the “Arab Culture in Other Languages” branch was won by Dr. Mohsen Jassim Al-Mousawi from Iraq / the United States, for his book: “One Thousand and One Nights in the Cultures of the Contemporary World: Global Commodity, Translation and Cultural Industrialization”, published in English by Cambridge University Press in 2021, while The award branch in “Publishing and Cultural Techniques” went to the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Egypt.

As for the title of Cultural Personality of the Year, it was awarded to critic Dr. Abdullah Al-Ghadami, in honor of a long journey of giving, during which he completed many important studies and research projects that contributed to enriching the cultural movement regionally and Arab.
