The list of American personalities banned from entering Russian soil is something to smile about.

Because if some of the 963 names, cited as "inciting Russophobia", seem obvious in the current geopolitical climate (such as US President Joe Biden, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, or Pentagon boss Lloyd Austin), d others are very surprising.

This is the case, for example, of Mark Zuckerberg, boss of Meta, or Morgan Freeman.

Why is the actor on this list?

Because he appeared in a video, published in 2017 (and directed by Rob Reiner, also on the list), in which he accused the government of Vladimir Putin of having influenced the American elections in which Donald Trump emerged victorious .

Not possible

Another surprise, on this list are several American politicians who would have the greatest difficulty in traveling to Russia, for a very good reason: they are dead.

This is the case of Harry Reid, Orrin Hatch and John McCain, three senators, who died respectively last April, in December 2021 and… in 2018!

One name, on the other hand, is conspicuous by its absence: that of former President Donald Trump.

Accused by the opposition of being very close to the Kremlin, or even, by some of his detractors, of being a Russian "agent", the billionaire has plenty of time to travel to Russia as he sees fit.

Maybe after the end of the war with Ukraine?
